Abutilon Indicum

 


  • Abutilon Indicum is alos called as Indian Mallow is a small shrub in the family of  Malvaceae.
  • It is an Ornamental plant, its roots and leaves being used for curing fevers.
  • It has been called with different names in different languages, in Hindi has "Kanghai", Telugu has "Duvvena benda", Tamil has "Thuthi" and Kannada has "TuThThi gida".









  • Abutilon is a Broadleaf Evergreens in Mallow family.
  • It is widely naturalized in warmer regions and it is a Serious Agricultural weed.
  • It ha s a bushy growth, root rot holds the intake nutrients, and Abutilon leaves begin to turn yellow.

  • Abutilon is mostly grown at Sunny and Warm areas, it is listed as Invasive mostly in Asia.
  • The plant is commonly used in siddha medicines.
