                                 The Story Which We Know

Once a Wild Dog  fell into a deep well. He tried his best but could not get out. So he just waited for someone to come and help. Soon a Impala passed by. The wild dog cried out to her. "The water here is cool and sweet. Why don't you come and have a drink?"

The goat was quite silly. Without thinking even for a moment, she jumped into the well. When she had taken a drink, she asked the wild dog, "How will we get out?"

The wild dog said, "Please stand on your hind legs. I will Climb up your head and get out. Then I will help you to get out."

Th Impala agreed. But when the Wild dog had got out, he just ran away. The  Impala was left in the well. She was drowned after some time.

                                               RainCoat

On Sunday, Lucky's parents got him a red raincoat.
"Ma, may I wear it now? asked Lucky."
"No, my dear, the rains are near, but just now the sky is clear," said Ma.

               Monday was bright and sunny.
"It looks clouds are white, Will it rain today, Mummy?" asked Lucky.
"No Lucky, not day. If you wear the raincoat today you will look quite funny!" said Ma.

On Tuesday, the sky was blue. "Ma, when  will my wish come true?" asked Lucky.
"Not today, my dear, there is just one white cloud in the sky!" said Ma.

Wednesday was hot. "Ma, why doesn't it rain?" asked Lucky.
"Son, I think it will rain very soon my dear. May be even before it is noon," said Ma.

On Thursday Lucky went on a picnic. "Ma, what if it rains? shall I take the raincoat with me?" asked Lucky.

"No my dear, it will not rain today. The little white clouds are too high in the sky," said Ma.
                       Friday was cloudy.
"Ma, will it rain today?" this time Lucky asked soo Loudly.

"It might, my dear. There are some dark clouds low down in the sky," said Ma.

            "Saturday began with a bang!"
"Ma, is that thunder I hear? Will it rain very soon?" asked Lucky.

And then at last, it started raining! oh, it's raining, it's raining, sang Lucky, running out.

"But Lucky," called Ma, running after him, "you forgot  your raincoat!"

                                      The Clock story

Mouni and Hemu are busy setting up           their new railway set on the Playroom floor.

After we've put all the rails out, we'll put up the station, and then the tunnel, said mouni.

And finally we can put the engine with carriages and get it going, said hemu.

Mouni looks at the clock to check the time.

Oh, dear! just look at the time. It's only five minutes to our bedtime. We've just come to the nicest part of all getting the train going!, say's mouni.

We always seem to have to go to bed just when we're in the middle of something exciting. Yesterday, we had to go before we finished our painting, said hemu.

That silly clock goes much too fast, said mouni.

               What's mother doing? asked hemu.

She's cleaning some cupboards downstairs, said mouni.
Well, she won't guess the time then, said hemu.

Here, hemu goes to the clock and turns the hands. He has changed the time from quarter past nine to quarter past eight.

There! We've got another hour to play, said hemu.

Mouni shocked and said oh, hemu! you can't do that.

Mouni, mother isn't wearing her watch. She'll come and look at this clock and think it's right. Then we'll have extra playtime, said hemu.

Here, mouni is quiet. She wants the extra hour, she thinks mother would never guess.

It is getting near your bedtime, you two. What does the clock say? Mother call's both.

Hemu look's the clock it was half pas eight.

Really? I think it is later than that? How strange! Has it stopped?

Here, Hemu and Mouni stare at the floor, looking a bit ashmed.

Mother while going back! well, I suppose I was wrong. I thought it is half past nine o'clock.

Here, the children don't say anything to one another. They both wished they hadn't put the clock  back like that. They have tricked Mother - it is not a nice thing to do.

The clock appears to be quite right again. The eight O'clock siren goes off far away in the town. The clock says eight O'clock too.

The children look at Mother, wondering if she would say anything, but she doesn't say a word.

They go to schools as usual. When they come home, they go up to play with their railway set.
